SR 531’s main purpose is to provide connection from CT 4 to CT 9 south, which it does by crossing under I-84 and providing a ramp into the right lanes of I-84. The freeway SR 508 dumps into the left lanes of I-84 and does not allow a cut-across to get to 9. Anyway, this light is also SR 549. Turn right for unmarked SR 549 south, which connects to US 6 west – though 531 is the signed routing to get there.
