Nevada 172 begins as we leave the Hoover Dam. This road was US-93 as recently as a year ago, carrying all the north-south traffic from Phoenix to Vegas. This Welcome to Nevada! sign remains at the beginning of the route, even though there is no longer a way out of Nevada from here.
