As I-90 begins, turn left to get on old US-10/I-90 Business.

Reassurance shield after the turn. This segment of US 10 was the last to be bypassed by I-90, and that didn’t occur until the early 1990s. The proposal was to route I-90 through downtown Wallace, which you’ll see in a second why that was a bad idea, but they ended up building the viaduct you see adjacent to the mountains instead to complete the interstate.

A few blocks later, turn left to head into historic downtown Wallace and head to I-90

Beautiful downtown Wallace, with the bypass viaduct visible in the distance. Not destroying this downtown was a good call, in my opinion.

This disabled stoplight at Bank and 7th was the last stoplight on I-90, now disabled. One part of this light sits in a coffin in one of the museums.

Turn right for I-90 east towards Mullan and Missoula Mont. Turn left for CDA and I-90 west. Idaho 4 also begins here and heads to Burke.
