In downtown Whitehall, MT-69 will begin. Montana 2 is also on this stretch of highway, but it’s poorly signed. This is the only independently mounted 69 shield on 69 north, perhaps due to theft.

A few miles later, we’ll cross under I-90 without interchange and approach Secondary 359.

Stay straight for 359 south to Cardwell. Follow 69 to Boulder and Helena. Montana 2 West will join S-359 for a couple miles before continuing on its own alignment.
