Interestingly, this sign dates back to the Battery Street Tunnel but is still applicable with the new tunnel. Beyond this point, SR 99 enters a new alignment through downtown. To see a few pictures from the old viaduct routing as of March 2008, visit this link.

As we cross over the 1st Ave S drawbridge we approach JCT SR 509. This carriageway continues as SR 509 south to Burien while SR 99 weaves around onto another freeway turns into SR 599. SR 99 will dead end only to resume on International Blvd and SR 518 in the city of Seatac
