Wyoming Highway 789, WYO 73 to US-287 Byp

Location: US-287 and WYO 73, Carbon Cty

US-287 occasionally closes here, but I’d guess this gate only serves the good people of Bairoil and the non-existent Lamont

Reassurance shield after the junction. The stretch of road between here and Rawlins is incredibly desolate

Junction US-287 bypass coming up as we enter Rawlins.

AMP: 1

Location: US-287 and Higley Blvd, Rawlins

Turn left for US-287 bypass, a quick <1 mile bypass that takes you to the west end of Rawlins, right by I-80. Stay straight to follow 287 southwest and then due east taking a zigzaggy route across Rawlins. No reason not to take the bypass. For WYO 789, though, this is the best way.
