Colorado State Highway 141, US-50 to CO-90

Location: SH-141 and US-50, Mesa Cty

No reassurance shield as 141 splits from US-50. 141 heads south from here and is one of the most scenic routes I have ever driven. I suspect it’s overlooked by tourists because Moab and all associated national parks are just west of here, and it doesn’t connect anything important, but it’s a really neat drive. Up there with Washington 129/Oregon 3 as far as unknown but amazing drives go.

We’ll finally get a reassurance shield several miles later as we start to make our way into the mountains

Reassurance shield several miles later

Location: SH-141 and CR 6.3, Mesa Cty

Ressurance shield a few miles after that as we near Gateway

Location: SH-141 and County Rd, Mesa Cty

Reassurance shield a couple miles later. Gateway is just around this corner.

Location: SH-141 and FoyRd, Gateway, Mesa Cty

As we head around the corner, we’ll approach the little town of Gateway. In Gateway, we’ll catch up with the Dolores River. After this, the route starts to get really scenic as we parallel that river.

Location: SH-141 and CR 4.4, Mesa Cty

Reassurance shield as we head out of Gateway

Location: SH-141 at the Mesa County Line, Montrose Cty

Reassurance shield a few miles later as we enter Montrose County

Location: SH-141 and CR Q12, Montrose Cty

Reassurance shield several miles later as we enter a more treed area.

Location: SH-141 and SH-90, Montrose Cty

Several miles later, just before we enter the town of Naturita, we’ll approach Colorado 90.

Location: SH-141 and SH-90, Montrose Cty

Follow 90 west to Paradox. Stay on 141 to head into Naturita.

Location: SH-141 and SH-90, Montrose Cty

Turn right for 90 west. Stay straight for 141 south.

Location: SH-141 and SH-90, Montrose Cty

Turn right here for 90. The arrow is missing, which is unfortunate.
