As we enter Alamogordo, we’ll approach US-82 and the city relief route.

Stay in the left lane for US-82. This is the western terminus of that route, which goes all the way to Brunswick, Georgia.

Follow 54/70 west to Las Cruces and El Paso along the city relief route. Stay straight to head into downtown Alamogordo, and turn left for 82 east towards Cloudcroft

Turn right for 54/70 and left for US-82. There’s actually some question as to what the non-relief route through Alamogordo is- it’s supposedly still posted as 54/70, but the AASHTO thinks it goes on the relief route, so that takes precedence.
