A few miles later, we’ll enter Hastings

Location: Burlington Ave and Shore Dr, Hastings

Reassurance shield as we enter Hastings. Hastings is aligned north south, and 34 travels all the way to the south edge, so it’s kind of a long trek

As we enter the main Hastings grid, we’ll get another reassurance shield

As we near the east edge of downtown Hastings, we’ll get another reassurance shield

As we enter downtown Hastings, we’re informed we can turn right onto 2nd street for 6 business. US-6 business is just a locally maintained, unofficial business loop that is not part of the state highway system

A couple blocks later we’ll cross the railroad tracks out of the downtown area and get another reassurance shield

Several blocks after that we’ll hit US-6.

Turn left for US-6 east. Turn right for 6/34 west and 281 south. The concurrency will only last a few blocks before 281 splits off. 6 and 34 will stay connected for a long time
