U.S. Route 59, I-29 Bus to I-229

Location: US-59 and I-29 Bus, Country Club Village

Reassurance shield after the routes split

Location: US-59 and Route DD, Country Club Village

We’ll come to a junction with Route DD, which you could follow all the way back up to Savannah, or stay on 59 South for St Joe

Location: US-59 and Route DD, Country Club Village

Right for DD North, stay straight for US-59 South

Location: US-59 and County Line Rd, St Joseph

A little bit later, we’ll simultaneously cross into St Joe and Buchanan County. St Joseph is the largest city US-59 enters in Missouri

Location: US-59 and Route K, St Joesph

Junction Route K coming up, which I believe to be a super old alignment of US-59

Location: US-59 and Route K, St Joseph

Turn right for Route K, stay straight for US-59, which will take over the divided highway from Route K

Location: St. Joseph Ave and Route K, St Joseph

Reassurance shield after the K junction as we join the ancient divided highway, presumably the original entrance into St Joe

Location: St Joseph Ave and Logan St, St Joseph

As we enter the important part of St Joe, the divided highway ends and we’ll get frequent 59 signage

Location: St Joseph Ave and Broadway St, St Joseph

A few blocks later we get another one as we pass through a fairly nice looking residential neighborhood in St Joe

Location: St Joseph Ave and Concord St, St Joseph

Another reassurance shield a few blocks later as we pass Lindbergh Elementary and enter a more urbanised part of St Joe

Location: St Joseph Ave and Moss St, St Joseph

Another reassurance shield a few blocks later

Location: St Joseph Ave and Highland Ave, St Joseph

Reassurance shield a few blocks later as we enter the extreme northeastern part of the downtown grid. US-59 won’t actually go into the core of downtown- it’ll bypass it on I-229

Location: St Joseph Ave and Woodson St, St Joseph

Another reassurance shield a couple blocks later

Location: St Joseph Ave and Middleton St, St Joseph

Another reassurance shield a few blocks later

Location: St Joseph Ave and 3rd St, St Joseph

Reassurance shield as we approach the I-229 junction. There’s no explicit signage for I-229- this road just dumps you on it. The only signage to help you not do that is by getting in the left lane for 3rd St, the last intersection. There’s no access to I-229 North, either
